To know, to love, to serve

Fundraising

St. Joseph School and Preschool use fundraising to help defray the costs of extra academic programs, assemblies, and student field trips.  These make St. Joseph a special place to learn and help keep the cost of education at St. Joseph School and Preschool affordable. There are two mandatory school fundraisers.

In addition, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) sponsors several activities throughout the school year designed to create fellowship as well as to raise additional money for specific school needs; i.e., add playground equipment, upgrade computer lab, etc.  PTO events and activities are not mandatory.

Mandatory Family Fundraising

The first fundraiser occurs at the beginning of the school year.  Parents are asked to sell and/or purchase a designated amount of candy, cookies or items from a catalog.  School families are given an opportunity to buy out of this fundraising activity.

The second fundraising activity takes place during the winter months.  Families are asked to purchase a minimum of two tickets for the Annual Tuition Raffle.  Families can sell the tickets to recoup their expense or keep the tickets.  The raffle winner receives one paid tuition (school or preschool) for the upcoming school year or a published cash amount.  The raffle winner is announced at the annual Open House in March.  Note:  because of the economy and the sacrifices made by many of our school families, there is no second fundraising activity planned for the 2008-2009 school year.

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Fundraising

Our children are supported by a wonderful, inclusive group of parents who organize events to support the mission of St. Joseph School and the PTO itself. Activities include family fun nights, a Business Expo, a Mom-to-Moms Sale, an annual golf outing and other events which have the dual purpose of supporting the school and building our support community.

The PTO meets monthly, September through May, and child care is available at no charge.  All school families and preschool families are automatically members of the PTO.  There are no dues or fees associated with membership.
